MicroWorld has announced its comprehensive content security software for mail servers, MailScan version 5.6. MailScan is compatible with Windows Vista, 64-bit Windows platforms, and Lotus Domino 8 mail servers. MailScan uses content filtering techniques to scan incoming messages; it also contains an antivirus scan engine and an advanced heuristic scanner that scans both inbound and outbound emails. MailScan now includes a Web-based administration console, which allows remote administration via a browser and also enables LDAP and POP3 authentication.

Polycom launched its CMA (Converged Management Application), which is a network management and desktop video platform designed to ease the deployment and management of enterprise video networks and reduce the overall complexity of desktop, group, and telepresence solutions. The CMA Desktop component is an enterprise desktop video application that supports high-definition video, voice, and content. Polycom CMA has seat licenses that can be used for endpoints, infrastructure, and CMA Desktop.
Polycom also introduced its RMX 1000, a high-performance, multipoint visual communication conferencing platform designed for small and medium-sized enterprises and large enterprise branch offices. The RMX 1000 delivers on-demand video collaboration with support for multiple sites in the same calls. The offering also features UltimateHD—high-definition video, voice, and multimedia content-sharing capabilities. The RMX 1000 media server is customized to handle the unique requirements of high-performance visual communication. Adder announced the AdderLink X50 video extender, a link-transparent USB and high-performance video extender for video up to 1,920 x 1,200 and digital stereo audio over a single CATx cable. The AdderLink X50 is designed for use in applications where users require their USB peripherals, such as keyboards, mice, and graphics tablets, to be extended up to 165 feet from the computer. Beyond more traditional uses, the X50 can also work with interactive digital signage applications. The AdderLink X50-Multiscreen adds a second video and a transparent, high-speed RS-232 connection. AFCO Systems released a trio of power distribution solutions: Basic, Metered, and Smart. The three solutions provide flexible power deployment as well as power management and monitoring for mission-critical data center environments. Chloride has released the 90-NET 750 kVA three-phase online UPS system, which enhances the abilities of the 90-NET product range to 750 kVA parallelable modules. Additionally, the 90-NET 750 includes a more modern design, which increases its energy efficiency and decreases its footprint by 30%, as compared to other units. The 90-NET 750 also features true online double-conversion topology that transfers incoming AC power from the mains to a direct current rail feeding the inverter. The Liebert Challenger ITR is a new horizontal flow cooling system for data centers from Emerson Network Power. It’s designed to be installed anywhere within a row of equipment racks, providing lateral airflow to cool up to 23kW or 33kW. At less than 8 feet tall and less than 4 feet deep, the Liebert Challenger ITR can fit in low-ceilinged computer rooms and even network closets. It also provides reheat, filtration, and humidification/dehumidification.

Minicom Advanced Systems has released the Smart 216 IP and Smart 232 IP remote-access KVM switches. Geared for server room and data center managers, the devices are designed to allow one local and two remote system administrators access and control of up to 16 (216 IP) or 32 (232 IP) servers. Access is made securely at the BIOS level. Remote users can control routers, managed network switches, PDUs, and other serial devices. Both KVM switches integrate into Minicom’s KVM.net II centralized management system for remote IT and are rack-mountable and 1U-sized. RF Barrier, an IEEE 802.11-based technology designed to defend wireless networks from eavesdroppers and hackers, will soon be available from Meru Networks. RF Barrier blocks radio frequency signals at the end of a building without affecting the signal inside, preventing someone outside of the building from being able to locate and penetrate the network. The technology is part of Meru’s wireless security package which includes firewalls, rogue identifiers, and location-based policy enforcement.

Symantec has upgraded Symantec Network Access Control and is working on adding an integrated on-demand client.
